I’m Rebecca and I grow seasonal, fresh flowers in my meadow in Mobberley, right in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside.
I nurture most of my flowers from seed, growing a wide range of varieties, shapes and textures, always keeping to the wild, English garden style that I love so much. All of my flowers are grown free of pesticides and chemicals, respecting the neighbouring insects and wildlife. They are also cut to order, meaning they travel from meadow to vase within a matter of hours, and because they don’t travel far, clocking up needless airmiles, the flowers from Meadow At Moss Lane include beautiful and unusual stems that you won’t find in other standard, shop-bought bouquets.
Over 90% of the flowers sold in the UK are imported. From supermarkets, petrol stations and farm shops to high street florists and letterbox deliveries, almost all of the flowers available to buy are grown in far flung countries in Africa or South America, doused in chemicals and transported across the globe before they reach your kitchen table.
The carbon footprint of our national flower obsession and our demand for blooms out of their natural season is huge.
I am passionate about reintroducing people to the beauty of British flowers, grown sustainably and in tune with the natural rhythm of the seasons.
